SINGLE REVIEW: Collars – Hey Lizzie, Lay It On Me

Collars’ new single ‘Hey Lizzie, Lay It On Me’ is dynamic, energised, and complex, all in the best way.

The track opens with a guitar melody and effortless vocals that are reminiscent of  the song ‘Bitch’ from the Plastiscines. There is then a switch to a sound more Florence + the Machine-esque with its strong vocals that perfectly compliment the instrumental.

The highlight of the track is the instrumental segment after the chorus; it reminds the listener that they are alive.

Collars have produced something catchy that also demonstrates a fusion of immense vocal talent with polished instrumental. This song will certainly be going down as one of my highlights of 2021, and I’m very excited to hear more from Collars.

Collars’ new single will be released on all streaming platforms on the 23rd of April.
