Going ga-ga for galaxy print

I am taking a look at one cosmic trend that does not appear to be going away anytime soon: galaxy print. Like it or loathe it, it is all over the high street, so I’ve chosen my top picks and various ways to wear the trend.

R2D2 Black Milk Clothing

First up: leggings. Often seen on fashion bloggers (less often seen in Norwich city centre) galaxy print leggings are not the easiest way to work the trend. If you’re feeling brave and have the legs to get away with it, they can look great with a black top and boots. If, like me, you draw the line at anything jazzier than disco pants, there are subtler ways to incorporate galaxy print into your outfit.

Missguided’s Klouin Sheer Galaxy Print Blouse is perfect; it will work for day or night, and the sheer fabric prevents the print from being too overpowering. Another great alternative is Topshop’s Cosmic Print Tube Skirt, one of my favourite ways to wear the trend; worn with ankle boots and a leather jacket, it will make the perfect Friday night outfit.

Keeping the rest of your outfit relatively plain will ensure your galaxy print makes a statement, but if wearing the trend is a step too far, Topshop sell amazing Galaxy Print Nail Wraps by Nail Rock. At around £6, they are a cheap and easy way to work galaxy print into your look.

If your budget is unlimited, check out BlackMilk, an Australian brand who do a whole range of leggings, dresses, and swimwear in galaxy print and other bold prints and patterns. For serious sci-fi fans, they even have a range of Star Wars clothing. Their Ewok dresses and Yoda leggings have to be seen to be believed.
