Live: Mayday Parade

The Tallahassee pop-punk stars tore up the Waterfront on their UK tour of their self-titled album released last year.

Packed-out by a crowd left raring to go by brilliant support from Natives and The Summer Set, anticipation was thick in the air, awaiting the opening lines of Oh Well Oh Well. Chaos and crowd surfing didn’t stop until the end of the last song.

Mayday Parade played everything from their first song, Three Cheers For Five Years, to their newest material, and classics such as Jamie All Over and Jersey. The audience were singing their hearts out to every word.

The pace slowed in the middle of the set as front man Derek Sanders played a acoustic versions of Miserable At Best and Stay on his keyboard. It was an unforgettable turn in an otherwise frantic night.

Exhausted, sweating and with croaky voices, the crowd left an exceptionally awesome gig. Mayday Parade will always be welcome in Norwich.
