SU joins People’s Vote March

On Saturday 20 October, the The People’s Vote March for the Future took place in London, with an attendance of around 700,000, 600,000 more than anticipated.

Supporters marched for a final say on parliament’s Brexit deal.

Last week saw members of the SU speak out in support of the march, hosting a banner making session last week, along with covering the cost of transport for a coach to London on the day.

Campaigns and Democracy Officer, Sophie Atherton, appealed to students via her SU blog to ‘ensure that [our] voices are heard on the final decision for Brexit.’

The Brexit deal is anticipated to affect students in a number of ways, with potential economic and social instability meaning some may face problems with studying and travelling.
