Ukraine pulls out of Eurovision

Ukraine has withdrawn from the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest amid growing political tensions with Russia. The Ukrainian original entry, singer Maruv, refused to take part in the competition saying she felt she was being used as a ‘political tool.’  Ukraine failed to find a replacement act and has now chosen not to enter the contest happening in Israel in May.
